HELLO!

My name is Aisha and I am a Yoga Instructor based in central London. I offer private online yoga classes, tailoring sessions to each student’s unique level, ability and requirements.

MY JOURNEY

Over the years, I have been blessed to have studied, practised and taught many different styles of Yoga. Through this journey, I have learnt - and taught - that yoga is a union between oneself and one’s individual, inner higher self. Hence enabling the individual to understand & accept oneself to become the best person you can be in all aspects of their lives - be it sports, play, business relationships.

For myself, my journey began as a child as my passion for reading Indian, Greek and African Mythology, as well as Spiritual books, introduced me to the healing art of Yoga, so by the time I was twelve years old I was self-teaching the art. But like so many on similar journeys of discovery I faced my own challenges, in my case to do with limited flexibility. Yet through dedication, focus and commitment, I overcame my difficulties - as well as my frustration with my body’s limitations - and in time unlocked my fuller potential and the healing power of Yoga for both my body as well as my mind.

I have been fortunate enough to have studied different yoga styles and techniques with some of the best Yoga teachers in the world as my research has taken me to the United States, India, Thailand  New Zealand and Australia and across varied disciplines as Sivananda Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hammock Yoga, Purna Yoga and Yoga Nidra. In turn being guided by inspirational teachers including Dr Keshava, Richard Freeman, David Swanson, Bryan Legere, Shiva Rea, Annie Carpenter, Aadil Palkhivala and Ana Forrest.

Hence - as my journey continues - I see myself as a perpetual student, eager to learn and absorb, but also wishing to teach and share this passion that has benefited and shaped my life in such a positive way.

In 2010 two events occurred that reaffirmed my personal belief in the power of Yoga and the positive impact it can have on one’s life. The first was the launch of the Zero Gravity Yoga Class - with its inclusion of Hammock Yoga - which completely took me by surprise with its popularity.  Subsequently going viral across social media and the internet it was to impact on the second - a charity trek to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

By doing the trek to raise money for Help The Heroes, The Alzheimer’s Society and Save The Children, I saw it as a means to give back for the many gifts I had received during my Yoga journey. Yet due to the newfound popularity of my Zero Gravity class, I barely had any time to train at the gym for the trek. But I soon realised I had all I needed in my class, combined with sessions at a freezing plunge pool - as whilst Yoga honed my body, the dives solicited my resolve and strength of mind for the upcoming challenge. Hence the satisfaction and realisation as I reached the peak of the mountain - 19,341 feet above sea level - of how Yoga could seriously enhance your sporting ability, new strength, determination and open-mindedness reaffirm my passion for the discipline.

During my journey as an instructor, I have taught a broad range of students including the Jaguars NFL team, Golfers, Polo Players, Body Builders, Footballers, Cyclists, Runners, Housewives, Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs as well as celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Denise Van Outen and Josh Hartnett. I have even been fortunate enough to appear as a Yoga Guru for Jerry Hall on MTV as well as appearing on such television programmes as Breakfast, Sunday Brunch and Daybreak. All this being a testament to the power of Yoga to bring balance and vitality to any profession from elite sportsmen to corporate career professionals.

But as each Yoga journey is unique to the individual - with its own goals and challenges - it is vital each class is tailored to the individual. This is why I believe in an intuitive style of teaching as I feel each individual’s mood, ability, flexibilities and adapt according to their needs. It is this adaptive and reactive approach that has enabled me not only to help people with their Yoga but also create a loyal client base as I continue to get immense satisfaction from seeing them grow as I share my love and passion for Yoga with them.
